On June 4, 1942, Japanese A6M2 Zeros launched an attack on the Aleutian Islands to divert their initial target of Midway Island. During the mission, ground fire took down a Zero that was discovered a month later almost intact. The U.S. confiscated the aircraft to learn about it, but it was destroyed in a 1945 crash. This Hobby Master 1/48 scale, die cast model features the markings and scheme of the “Captured Zero,” U.S. Navy, September 1942, as well as an opening canopy, optional-position landing gear, and a display stand. 9¾” wingspan.
