FRENCH ARMOUR
A GUIDE TO PAINTING & WEATHERING TECHNIQUES USING TAMIYA’S FRENCH WWII AFV MODELS
English. 108 pages. Soft cover
The French campaign began on May 10, 1940, with the German army’s invasion of the Netherlands. After five weeks of fighting, it ended with the collapse of the French army.
In the public imagination, this defeat-often wrongly described as a total rout-is blamedon outdated equipment, supposedly outmatched by that of the German military. In reality, that wasn’t the case, as the Wehrmacht lost half of its tanks and aircraft during thosefive weeks of fighting. Most of the records from that period come from the PropagandaKompanie and mostly depict destroyed or abandoned French tanks.
French combat vehicles are of great interest from both a modeling and historicalperspective and offer endless possibilities when it comes to incorporating them intosmall scenes or larger dioramas, as we will see in this publication. The collection ofFrench tanks featured in the book, detailed step-by-step, is entirely dedicated to 1:35scale vehicles set in WWII.
