Douglas Bader, WWII British Ace, 1940-41 1/30 FigureFeatures
Douglas Bader (1910-1982) was a distinguished Royal Air Force fighter pilot and one of Britain’s most inspirational figures of World War II. After losing both legs in a pre-war flying accident in 1931, he refused to abandon his ambition to fly and successfully rejoined the RAF at the outbreak of war. Flying Hurricanes and Spitfires during the Battle of Britain, Bader was credited with 22 aerial victories and became known for his aggressive tactics and leadership. In 1941, he was shot down over France and captured, spending the remainder of the war as a prisoner, where he made several escape attempts. Bader’s determination, resilience, and refusal to be limited by disability made him a symbol of courage and perseverance.
