The EA-6B Prowler, flown by VAQ-209 “Star Warriors,” was an integral part of the U.S. Navy’s electronic warfare operations. As a specialized aircraft designed for jamming enemy radar and communications, the EA-6B provided critical support to both naval and joint forces by disrupting adversary sensors and communications during combat. VAQ-209, a reserve squadron, operated the Prowler for numerous missions, including tactical jamming, electronic surveillance, and support for ground troops. With its crew of four and advanced electronic warfare equipment, the EA-6B played a vital role in ensuring battlefield dominance through electronic attack and suppression of enemy defenses. The Prowler retired in 2019.
