Originally designed as an air-superiority day fighter, the F-16 Fighting Falcon’s versatility helped it evolve into a successful multirole, all-weather aircraft. Introduced with the U.S. Air Force in 1978, it featured an impressive assortment of innovative, pilot-friendly elements. Though it is no longer being purchased by the USAF, it remains in production for numerous international militaries; it has been used in 25 different countries. As of 2015, it is the second most common operational military aircraft in the world.
Made by Hobby Master, this 1/72 scale, die cast model &#8212 a replica of an F-16C flying with the 20th Fighter Wing in June 2015 &#8212 features the unit’s signature artwork on the tail, engraved panel lines, an opening canopy, a well-equipped cockpit (with instrument details and a pilot figure), a realistic air intake and exhaust nozzle, an impressive selection of wing-mounted weaponry, optional-position landing gear, authentic markings, and a display stand. Measures approximately 8¼” long with a 5½” wingspan.
