The F-86 Sabre was a transonic jet fighter developed by North American Aviation in the 1940s. First introduced in 1949 the F-86 became one of the most iconic aircraft of the Korean War where it achieved significant success against Soviet-built MiG-15 fighters. With its sleek swept-wing design and powerful J47 engine the F-86 was renowned for its speed agility and firepower. It was armed with six .50 caliber Browning M3 machine guns and could carry rockets or bombs for ground attack missions. The aircraft’s advanced avionics and aerodynamic design allowed it to excel at high speeds and altitudes. Over 9800 units were built and the F-86 was used by multiple air forces worldwide.
