Holding the distinction of having the longest production run of any U.S. piston-engine fighter (1942-1953), the F4U Corsair primarily saw service during WWII and the Korean War. More than 12,000 units were produced, and the aircraft was not officially retired until 1979. The “4” variant began its run in the U.S. Navy in 1944.
This top-of-the-line 1/32 scale plastic kit pays tribute to the Pacific Theatre WWII campaign with authentic Okinawa markings, and features metal aileron and flap shafts, a film instrument panel, three rubber tires, a detailed engine, and folding wings. Assembly required. 350 parts. Skill level 4. Measures approximately 12¾” long with a 15¼” wingspan.
