Georges Guynemer, WWI French Ace, 1917 1/30 FigureFeatures
Georges Guynemer (1894-1917) was one of France’s greatest aviation heroes of World War I. Sickly as a child and initially rejected from military service, he persisted until accepted into the French Air Service in 1914. Assigned to Escadrille N.3, “Les Cigognes,” he quickly distinguished himself as a fearless and highly disciplined fighter pilot. Flying aircraft such as the SPAD VII and SPAD XIII, Guynemer achieved 53 confirmed aerial victories. Known for his technical insight, he worked closely with aircraft designers to improve fighter performance. His courage, determination, and tactical brilliance made him a symbol of French resilience. He was reported missing in action over Belgium in September 1917, and his death further elevated his legendary status.
