Part of all major amphibious landings during World War II in both the European and Pacific Theaters, the “Landing Craft, Vehicle and Personnel” (LCVP) was tasked with shuttling men, vehicles, and equipment from the big ships to the beaches. Up to 36 crewmen could be transported at any one time and they were generally armed with two rear-mounted machine guns. More than 20,000 were manufactured and it saw service beyond the Second World War, including American usage during the Korean War.
A fully equipped replica of an LCVP used by U.S. forces during World War II, this 1/35 scale kit features finely molded plastic pieces, a one-piece hull, a realistic weathered finish, a detailed superstructure and propulsion housing, an optional-position ramp, two life rings, twine and cable, three crew figures (including two positioned at the rear gunner stations), 25 variously posed infantry figures, numerous photo-etched parts, authentic D-Day markings, and a display stand. Assembly required. Skill level 4. Measures approximately 12¼” long.
