Doyle.
Initially designed as a swamp rescue vehicle, the LVT (Landing Vehicle, Tracked), or “Alligator,” was commonly used in the Allied island-hopping campaign in the Pacific during WWII. The LVT(4) introduced the rear ramp, which lowered to let troops rush out, rather than having to climb over the tall sides as on earlier models. This iconic vehicle is examined through archival photos, detailing its history. 112 pages, 264 color & b/w photos, 9″x 9″, hardcover.
