A Milestone in Armored Communication Vehicles
The Renault FT T.S.F. (Telegraphie Sans Fil, meaning “wireless telegraphy”) was a communication command vehicle developed by France during the later stages of World War I, based on the chassis of the FT-17 light tank. The vehicle replaced the FT-17’s machine gun or 37mm cannon with a box-shaped radio compartment equipped with radio equipment. It was primarily intended for short-range wireless communication and served as a mobile communication hub at the company or battalion command level, facilitating coordination between infantry, artillery, and tank units. The FT T.S.F. had a significant influence on the development of communication support vehicles. However, due to the immature state of radio technology at the time and limited production, it was not widely deployed. This latest MENG SS-021 1/35 French FT T.S.F Radio Version model will be about 142mm long, 52mm wide and 94mm high once assembled. This kit includes fine PE parts. The radio compartment and cable rack are precisely recreated using resin parts.
