Celebrate the infancy of military aircraft with this exciting addition to the popularWings of the Great Warseries!
Though it was widely used by the Germans during World War I, the Pfalz D.IIIa fighter &#8212 in service from late 1917 through mid-1918 &#8212 was widely considered inferior to its Albatros and Fokker contemporaries. It was difficult to handle, often losing control during low altitude turns, and had its guns buried in the fuselage. More than 1,000 were manufactured, though, by the Armistice, only 100 remained on front line service.
Add a unique World War I-era fighter to your collection! This 1/72 scale resin display model &#8212 a replica of the Pflaz D.llla flown brilliantly by Carl Degelow, as he overpowered 30 allies, and won the astounding military Pour le Merite award &#8212 features a colorful design, finely textured surfaces that simulate fabric-on-frame construction to the biplane struts and cross supports, a pilot figure, a realistic engine, realistic weaponry, fixed landing gear, authentic markings, and a display stand with an articulating mount to present your model at various in-flight angles! Measures approximately 3¾” long with a 5¼” wingspan.
Note: Available Q1 2020. Reserve yours today! (Your card will not be charged until the item ships.)
