The Phantom II was initially designed as a U.S. Navy Fleet defense aircraft when it entered service in 1961. It’s a two-seat, supersonic long-range all-weather fighter-bomber that soon became one of the few aircraft used by the Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps. A large nose and rugged design gave the RF-4E the nickname “Rhino.” Currently, this aircraft serves in about 11 other countries with 14 variants and 5,201 available after production ended in 1979.
This 1/72 scale, die cast model is a Hobby Master replica of a RF-4E Phantom II as it appeared in the IRIAF from Mehrabad AB in 2009, features authentic markings and paint scheme, engraved panel lines, a rotating propeller, a well-equipped cockpit, and a display stand. Measures 10½” long with a 6¼” wingspan.
